Wow. I went to the Harrisonburg Farmers Market this morning and was blown away by the many options in locally grown produce, handmade crafts, baked goods, apple cider, organic fair trade coffee, and more. After purchasing some homemade rosemary potato bread from Staff of Life Baking Company, I headed over to try some medium roast Grains of Sense organic coffee (for just $2 a cup, I might add). Delicious!
There were folks of all ages and stages there, perusing the goods. Kids, grandparents, professionals wearing ties, young adults in workout gear, even dogs were enjoying the cool, crisp weather and taking in the aromas of freshly baked doughnuts and home grown herbs. All this to say, if you haven’t been to the farmers market downtown recently, you must visit! You’ll be sure to find affordable, locally grown, scrumptious food.
