You may have heard that the fall months aren’t great for home buying. In reality, though, fall is a great time to buy! Here’s a few reasons why:
- Properties are still being put on the market in hopes of a sale, and many times, a quick sale.
- Sellers may be more likely to negotiate on price because they’d like to sell before the holidays or before winter settles in. Having a house sit on the market for months during slow times isn’t attractive.
- Sellers may be getting ready for the new year, and would like to sell before January 1st. Perhaps they have plans of relocating, or starting fresh in a new place of their own.
- There is a lot of inventory out there, meaning a lot of homes are on the market. Buyers have a lot to choose from right now, and many of the properties out there can be purchased at an extremely good value.
So, are you in search of a home in Harrisonburg and/or Rockingham County? Beyond the search (and advanced search) section on our website, we have some great tools for getting the information you need.
Weekly Listing Update. Each week, we send out (via email) an update of new listings that have come on the market over the past week, with links to photos, maps, and other information that you would find helpful. This information comes directly from the local MLS, which is where all of the agents in the area search for properties.
