Court Square Coffee opened up shop in Downtown Harrisonburg on New Year’s Eve. I personally visited today for the first time, and let me tell you, as a self-proclaimed coffee snob from the Pacific Northwest, please take seriously this statement: Court Square Coffee serves the best cup of coffee in Harrisonburg!
My coffee of choice today: a 16 ounce Irish Cream (skim) latte. The first sip was amazing. And it only got better after that. Long after I finished it, I was still thinking about it. And I want more. I also ordered a raspberry scone. Oh. My. Goodness. It was delicious! And I want more of it, too. Needless to say, I’ll be going back very soon… and repeatedly.
Meet Jeremiah Young. He’s originally from Alaska, and has been living in the Harrisonburg area since 2004. The shop is cozy and features a friendly atmosphere. Even though this was my first visit, I felt like a long-time favorite customer. Patrons can simply drop by and order indoors or from the walk-up window, or order ahead by phone call or text! He takes cash or credit, and offers a punch card so regular visitors can earn a free cup of joe after so many purchases.
JMU’s The Breeze reported in January:
The store’s coffee beans are sourced from Trager Brothers Coffee, a company in Lovingston, Va., that imports organically grown coffee beans from all over the world and micro-roasts the beans in its own facilities.

Oh, and I wanted to share a photo of that delightful scone. This really doesn’t do it justice. You simply must visit and try one for yourself!
