We have absolutely loved having the work of Striebig Photography & Design displayed in our office (home of the Wilson Downtown Gallery) for the last month. If you haven’t stopped by to see this show yet, you still have the month of October to make that happen! And trust me, you really should see this show!
Brad Striebig is an accomplished, published photographer whose work has aided conservation and humanitarian groups both here and overseas.
It truly is a privilege to display these photographs not only because they are vibrant and tug-at-your-soul beautiful but because they tell a wonderful and important story – one of conservation, community development, and neighbors helping neighbors across the world. The show consists of two exhibits: Appalachian Colors & WATER for Africa. Come and see it for yourself!
Bradley Striebig on the Appalachian Colors Exhibit: I grew up in a farming community in Pennsylvania and loved the outdoors. I spent as much time as possible in the mountains and waters along the Appalachian mountain chain, often with camera in hand. I love the vibrant colors of the seasons throughout this region. The photographs in this exhibit represent the beauty of this region from North Carolina and Tennessee to the northern-most areas of Penn’s Woods. Many of the images were taken here in the Shenandoah valley and many have been used to help conservation groups protect these unique and precious resources for future generations.
Bradley Striebig on the WATER for Africa Exhibit: Over ten years have past since my first trip to Benin in West Africa. The work done by African organizations to help with community development in that time is astounding and almost never reported or conveyed to the outside world.
This is a story about neighbors helping neighbors, in a world where we are now all interconnected.
One hundred percent of net proceeds from the sales from the WATER for Africa Exhibit will be donated to WATER for Africa and will directly aid developing communities in Africa.
