Community Event: Stoney Run Artisans Open House
Located in the historic town of McGaheysville, Stoney Run Artisans is hosting a Holiday open house this Friday November 17th from 4-8pm. Join them to get a jump start on your Holiday shopping with their selection of unique and local artisan gifts. Wine will be provided by Brix & Columns Vineyards. We were thrilled to have four artisans from Stoney Run Artisans in the Wilson Downtown Gallery in February and March 2016.
Community Spotlight: Bittersweet Bakery
Bittersweet Bakery - a staple of the Harrisonburg Farmers market - has recently renovated and moved to 120 W. Wolfe Street. They are currently just baking for custom orders - but they will have their retail space open after their ribbon cutting and open house on November 21st starting at 2pm. Co-owners Alicia Barger and Erica Ray let me hang out with them in the kitchen as they baked. These ladies are talented, passionate about what they do, and fun to be around. We are so excited they have their own space - read on for a little more about their background and their hopes for their new store!
Downtown Spotlight: withSimplicity
Although withSimplicity has been in the downtown scene for a few years now - they recently expanded and moved to the storefront on 108 S. Main street where they share the space with Restorative Massage Therapy. They celebrated their grand opening on October 6th. The owner, Irina Dovganetskiy, graciously answered our questions about the new location. With many of their products made in-house with fresh and organic ingredients and their support of body positivity, this new location has much to offer!
ESPN’s College GameDay is BACK!
Saturday is the Big Day. ESPN's College GameDay is back at James Madison University after their last visit in 2015! As evidenced from this photo from last year, all of the JMU Dukes are excited to welcome back the program and play against the Villanova Wildcats Saturday at 3:30pm. Check here for a schedule of activities and ways to join in the festivities in downtown Harrisonburg.
