A new 160-acre real estate development is proposed to be built on the Harrisonburg City / Rockingham County border by the Post Office on the South end of town. This project is awaiting zoning approval, but is likely to get the “OK.”
The complex will include 384 residences in the form of 62 single-family homes, 96 duplexes and 226 townhouses. The front of the property will boast 400,000 square feet of commercial space for “big box” retail stores, restaurants, banks and small shops.
Needless to say, this is a huge venture. It will provide closer large retail stores for Bridgewater and Mount Crawford residents, and will be visible from I-81, so will likely attract passersby as well. To read more about this project, click here.
