Jennifer Lockard Connerley has had her beautiful paintings donning the walls of Wilson Downtown Gallery, located in our downtown office at 83 South Main Street, Harrisonburg, for the past couple of months. We’re now ready for the next local artist to be showcased. Denise Kanter Allen will be displaying her works of art in September and October. DENISE KANTER ALLEN

Denise received a BFA in painting and drawing from James Madison University. She favors acrylic paints for her portrait-making but continues to explore all types of media, as well as collaborate with other artists. Denise is co-founder of Art Lotto portrait show, co-founder of Artery collaborative troupe, Treasurer for Spitzer Art Center, as well as a volunteer and supporter of the downtown local arts scene and events. Denise enjoys participating in downtown Harrisonburg’s First Fridays art exhibitions and working for Harrisonburg City Public Schools.
