Fall 2018 has officially arrived!  Thankfully the weather has changed just in time to match the new season.  This sudden change in temps has me thinking of spiced pumpkin lattes and fall decorations.   I always try to have my fall décor up by mid-September and decorate so that it works for the entire fall season as well as Halloween and Thanksgiving holidays.

Start by pulling out the items you used last year and use what you already own as a base to start from.  Then check out the trends online and in the stores to get some new ideas and inspiration.  There are loads of options in an array of colors…

There are no rules, go with what you love.  I’ve decided to keep it simple and use neutral earthy colors and bring in a new look using black & white buffalo check. It seems to be everywhere this year and adds a great contrast to the existing colors.   I just love to repurpose items to use them in unexpected ways.

Besides fall decorations you can also add other touches to your space that will evoke the feeling of fall. Burn a scented candle and add the smells of cinnamon spice, pumpkin or apple to your home.

Don’t forget about the exterior.  You can add just a few touches to completely change the look of the front entrance.  Add a new wreath or door decoration and fresh pots of fall foliage.  Add a warm throw and new pillows to your porch furniture as well.  The time change is coming up soon.  Now is a great time to add additional lighting to your entrance by using inexpensive string lights or lanterns to lite things up.
