Community Event: Downstage Downtown Community Theater Fest
The Valley Playhouse - Harrisonburg's Community Theater - is hosting a Valley-wide community theater festival on March 31st at Court Square Theater in downtown Harrisonburg. The evening will include selected scenes from the area's community theater organizations before a panel of judges, live and silent auctions items, and dinner at Capital Ale House (or around downtown). This is the first event of this type hosted by the Valley Playhouse.
ValleyFest Kickoff Party
Need something fun to do St. Patrick's Day weekend? Come to Base Camp at Massanutten Resort this Saturday at 5:30pm to enter to win some great prizes and a chance to buy advance tickets to this year's ValleyFest Beer & Wine Festival! There will be live music by Randy Black, a Deschutes tap takeover, free Deschutes glassware, swag and giveaways from MillerCoors, and ticket drawings at 7:30 p.m.
New to Agora Market: Create Downtown
From co-owner's of The Isle Co. Kathy Miller and Becca Slye (a mother and daughter duo) comes a new space to open in the Agora Downtown Market - Create Downtown. They will host a verity of classes and workshops lead by guest teachers - from knitting to marble pour painting. They also offer a variety of creative games and puzzles to purchase. Becca shared more details and future hopes of their space! Join them for their grand opening as part of First Fridays on April 6th!
Lola Mo’s: Downtown’s New Deli
Well, it's happened folks - downtown Harrisonburg finally has a deli! Lola Mo's Delicatessen opened last month in the newly renovated Keezell building. Open 7 days a week from 10am-7pm, they offer a verity of classic sandwiches (as well as options for vegans and vegetarians) or if you're feeling creative you can make your own signature sandwich. Want something in addition? Try one of their daily soups or sides, and don't forget the dessert case! Community Event: Cupid Crawl Fundraiser
Looking for something fun to do with your sweetie on Valentine's Day? Looking for an art-filled evening with friends? The Arts Council of the Valley is hosting the Cupid Crawl Fundraiser on Wednesday, February 14th starting at 5:00pm - an evening "crawl" with a handful of downtown art galleries, delicious food and drinks, and an optional free showing of a film at Court Square Theater afterwards!
